Toastmasters will meet March 4

The Reedsburg Toastmasters group continues to meet via Zoom.

The next gathering will be at 6:25 p.m. March 4.

The group is dedicated to public speaking and covers a variety of formats, including speeches, jokes, inspirational ideas and table-topic discussions.

Reedsburg resident earns degree

Jesse Spears of Reedsburg has earned a master’s degree from St. Cloud State University.

Spears’s major was in public safety executive leadership.

St. Cloud State University in Minnesota had 874 graduates following the fall 2020 semester.

RAMC continues coronavirus vaccinations

Reedsburg Area Medical Center is continuing its effort to vaccinate patients.

Adults 65 and older are eligible to receive the vaccine, and RAMC is reaching out as supplies become available. The amount it receives weekly is small and inconsistent, as there is high demand for the vaccine.

Keely Bauer, and independent consultant with Usborne Books & More, held a Cuddle Bear Book and Plush Drive last September in honor of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. The books and teddy bears were donated to Reedsburg Area Medical Center.

Rothwell graduates, starts teaching career

Ella (Rothwell) VandenLangenberg, a 2016 graduate of Reedsburg Area High School, graduated from the University Northwestern-St. Paul with a bachelor’s degree in Spanish education. She also minored in Biblical studies. She is now a Spanish teacher at Spring Lake Park High School in Minnesota.

Audio is always free at Reedsburg Public Library

During the pandemic consumers have been bombarded with offers for free limited term trials for the streaming or download of audiobooks and music. But when the trial ends, you are left with the monthly bill. Reedsburg Public Library offers a number of alternatives to paying for audio content.

Two locals graduate from UW-Stout

Two area residents took home degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Stout in December.

Mark Klang of Cazenovia earned a bachelor’s degree in technology education.

Morgan Sanders of Reedsburg achieved a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and rehab.

More than 630 students graduated after the fall 2020 semester.

Reedsburg, La Valle students make UW-La Crosse Dean’s List

The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse has released its list of honor students for the fall semester.

To qualify, students must carry at least 12 credits and earn a GPA of at least 3.5.

Two Reedsburg residents graduate from UW-Madison

Benjamin Johnson and Derek Maniak, both of Reedsburg, have earned their diplomas from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Johnson graduated with a bachelor’s degree in economics and Maniak received a bachelor’s degree in sociology.

They were among the nearly 3,000 students who earned degrees during December virtual ceremony.
