A former Reedsburg Area High School student has been named Academic All-District at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.
Nicole Riberich of Rock Springs was one of 21 student athletes acknowledged by the College Sports Communicators for the 2025 season.
Ithaca/Weston had less than 10 wrestlers on the mat for Saturday’s Scenic/Ridge/Rivers Conference Tournament at North Crawford High School but all of them performed well as I/W worked their way to a third-place team finish.

Reedsburg continues their success in their first season as a high school girls wrestling program. Reedsburg placed second in the final team scoring Friday in the first ever Badger Conference Girls Wrestling Tournament in Baraboo.
It was a little good and a little bad this past week for Ithaca/Weston Girls Basketball, splitting a pair of non-conference games, a rarity with 2 straight games outside the Ridge and Valley at this time of year.
For one of the few times this season, the Badger Lightning girls hockey co-op, featuring players from several area schools, played back-to-back Badger Conference games last week.
River Valley has its first ever Conference Champion girls wrestler at the high school level. Makenzie Schulte won the title at 126 pounds with a 3-0 record Friday night at the first ever SWC/SWAL/Scenic Bluffs/Ridge and Valley Girls Wrestling Tournament in Boscobel. Schulte is now 32-9 for the season.
The Blackhawks from River Valley took a 3-game boys basketball win streak to Sauk-Prairie last Tuesday night to face an Eagles team that is contending for the Badger Small championship. Valley’s streak came to an end with an 81-61 loss.
Weston played none of their three scheduled boys basketball games this past week as the program goes through a transition with three weeks remaining in the regular season. AD Maggie Landsinger sent this statement on Friday.
