Drivers planning to travel between Reedsburg and Baraboo will need to find an alternative route.
Construction began Monday on Highway 33 from Highways 23 to 12. Construction is expected to wrap up Oct. 1, weather permitting.
The road is closed to through traffic and the detour follows Highway 23.
