RAMC promotes COVID-19 injections

Reedsburg Area Medical Center is spreading word about the COVID-19 vaccine in light of the CDC recommending an additional dose for people who are moderately to severe immune-compromised.
Either Pfizer or Moderna is available through RAMC.
Those who are considered compromised include: Those who have received active cancer treatment for tumors or cancer of the blood; patients who have received an organ transplant and are taking immune suppressants; anyone who has received a stem-cell transplant within the last two years and is taking immune suppressants; people with moderate to severe primary immune deficiencies such as DiGeorge syndrome or Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome; patients with advanced or untreated HIV; or people undergoing treatment with high-dose corticosteroids or other drugs that may suppress the immune system.
Anyone who has questions should speak with their medical provider about whether or not they should receive a second dose.

RAMC is offering COVID-19 vaccines at multiple locations, including its Viking Pharmacy, Physicians and Specialty groups, the walk-in clinic, the ER and the pharmacy inside the Physicians Group. These sites can also offer additional information about the shot.
