La Valle crash leads to fatality
An Aug. 21 collision in the town of La Valle resulted in one death and serious injuries.
According to the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office, a call came in just before 5 p.m. to report an SUV versus motorcycle collision on Highway 33 east of Emerald Drive. Deputies arrived to discover that the 61-year-old motorcycle occupant was deceased at the scene. Authorities declined to say more than that she was a female from Reedsburg. The operator of the motorcycle, a 61-year-old Reedsburg man, was transported by Medflight for life-threatening injuries.
According to the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office, the initial investigation shows a 2016 Jeep Cherokee struck a 2008 Harley Davidson motorcycle. Further details were not yet known by the Reedsburg Independent’s deadline.
The Jeep’s driver, a 38-year-old female from La Valle, was not injured, according to the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office.
The road was closed for about four hours while the Sheriff’s Office investigated the crash. That investigation remains ongoing.
Also assisting at the scene were the La Valle Fire Department and First Responders, Reedsburg Fire Department, Reedsburg Area Ambulance Service and Steve’s Towing.
