The Farmer Angel Network will hold a virtual presentation for farmers on the importance of sleep.

The program will be held from 1 to 2:30 p.m. March 10.

On Feb. 2, a Groundhog’s Day drive-thru chili supper was held at Sacred Heart Parish. It was provided by the local Knights of Columbus and Thrivent Action Team. Marin Stowe of La Valle was one of 40 Wartburg College students who were recently inducted into the Phi Eta Sigma honor society.

Phi Eta Sigma is the oldest and largest freshman honor society. To qualify, a student must have a GPA of at least 3.5 and be in the top 20 percent of their class by the end of the first year.

Fire hydrants must be kept clear of snow and ice, like the one seen here, for the safety of all. Homeowners closest to hydrants are traditionally responsible but that doesn’t mean others can’t pitch in with a shovel if they see a hydrant that needs clearing.
