Cold spell may finally break this week

Authorities investigating suspected arson in Reedsburg

A home burned under suspicious circumstances on Feb. 10.

The Sauk County Sheriff’s Office is investigating what happened at the home on Highway 154 in the town of Reedsburg. The residents were safely evacuated but some pets were still in the dwelling.

Zibell makes dean’s list at University of Iowa

Brooke Zibell of Reedsburg earned a spot on the dean’s list at the University of Iowa for the spring 2020 semester.

Zibell is majoring in public health.

She was among the more than 7,400 students who made the list.

Lions Club gives to splash pad

On Jan. 11, the Reedsburg Lions Club committed to match a donation made by the Reedsburg Utility Commission to the Reedsburg splash pad project. The club donated $1,000 toward the plan.

Residents can sign up to receive alerts regarding vaccine

Sauk County Emergency Management is encouraging the public to sign up for Nixle to receive updates on the COVID-19 vaccine.

Nixle also provides notices about inclement weather, missing people and other emergency announcements within the county.

Reedsburg residents earn honors at Edgewood College

Three Reedsburg residents achieved semester honors at Edgewood Colege for the fall 2020 semester.

They were Brock Helmeid, Kathryn Schultz and Hunter Van Meeteren.

To make the list, students must be full time and have a GPA of at least 3.5.

Reedsburg resident AnnaJo Lubasi made the dean’s list at Ithaca College for the fall 2020 semester.

Ithaca College is a university dedicated to the arts and music, as well as business, communications and health sciences.

Locals graduate from UW-Platteville

Area residents were among the nearly 600 students who recently received their degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville.

Reedsburg residents included Joshua Benson, majoring in criminal justice; Dominic Kuhn, technology education; and Michaela Miller, elementary education.
