Art Committee accepts grants applications

The Reedsburg Art Committee invites the public to apply for grants.

Funding is available for larger, permanent projects. Individuals and organizations may apply for these projects, which will be judged competitively. Awards go up to $3,000.

Cazenovia man celebrates 80 years with American Legion

On Jan. 9, the Sons of the American Legion Squadron 491 presented an award to its oldest member, Richard Bennett, at the Cazenovia Legion Hall. Bennett, who was signed up by his father as an infant, just celebrated 80 years with the organization.

Reedsburg Police Department receives re-accreditation

The Reedsburg Police Department has achieved re-accreditation for another three years.

It was awarded by the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Accreditation Group Governing Board. The vote was unanimous.

Pub Crawl canceled due to pandemic

Reedsburg Bar Buddies has decided to not hold its St. Patrick’s Day Pub Crawl, citing the pandemic.

The organization plans to bring the event back in 2022.

Bar Buddies provides safe rides to try and prevent drunken driving.

Reedsburg Public Library makes changes for 2021

Visitors to the Reedsburg Public Library will experience a few changes in 2021, which have been implemented in the last few weeks. Firstly, library users will notice fresh carpeting and a new arrangement for collections near the main service desk. Secondly, Reedsburg Public Library is joining a nationwide trend in becoming “fine free.”

Reedsburg Area Medical Center welcomes first baby of 2021

The first baby of the year arrived Jan. 2 at Reedsburg Area Medical Center.

Miron was born at 12:43 p.m. to Yuliia Cherednichenko and Vitalie Raileanu of Wisconsin Dells. He weighed eight pounds, 13 ounces and was 19 inches long.

He joined older sister Miriam.
