City of Reedsburg holds recycling event for appliances, electronics

Reedsburg residents who need to get rid of unwanted items may want to check out the next electronics recycling event in August.

It will be held from 8 a.m. to noon Aug. 7 at Nishan Park.

Bring items in the back of your vehicle and remain inside; workers will be on site to haul out your refuse.

Items that will be accepted at no charge are CPU towers, laptop computers, modems and routers, desktop printers, keyboards, mice, scanners, web cams, hard drives, satellite dishes, air fryers, blenders, coffee makers, crockpots, juicers, mixers, toasters, vacuums, cameras, cell phones, mp3 players, e-readers, gaming systems, VCRs, DVD players, Blu-ray players, radios, stereos, tablets, leaf blowers, lawn edgers, weed trimmers, string lights, power tools, chargers, power cords and wiring.

Make sure all batteries are removed, and gas and oil are drained.

Microwaves, grills, push mowers and snow blowers will be taken for $15.

Mini fridges, window air conditioners, dehumidifiers, and computer monitors and TVs under 29 inches will cost $20.

Ellipticals, stationary bikes, treadmills, weight benches, stoves, ovens, washers and dryers will cost $25.

Chest freezers and refrigerators will be $35.

TVs and monitors of 30 to 49 inches will cost $40.

TVs over 50 inches, wooden CRT consoles and projection TVs will be $60.
