Randi Osborne, a teacher at Weston, recently had a student, Alli Gillmore, complete her consumer equipment maintenance and repair class. This course was made possible through a Briggs & Stratton grant presented to Southwest Technical College.

With arctic-like temperatures outside, a Weston pre-K teacher took the opportunity to teach her kids about penguins. Mrs. Thompson taught the children about these birds and shared stories of Tacky the Penguin. She even got into the spirit by wearing a penguin costume and having her students practice waddling in the hallway.

St. Peter’s Lutheran School in Reedsburg has unveiled who made its honor rolls for the second quarter.

Lists are as follows.

Fifth grade, A honor roll

Grace Abbott, Landon Brown, Zander Dehn, Ava Mathews, Mason Molitor, Aurora Murphy and Nicole Schafer.

Fifth grade, B honor roll

Younger children in the Reedsburg Public School District have completed their mid-year assessments, and results are impressive amid another pandemic school year.

There’s been no reprieve for special education teachers during the pandemic, but a Reedsburg staffer says they are stepping up to meet the need.

A proposal for upper grades to return to full-time in-person school failed at Monday night’s Reedsburg School Board meeting.

Kathy Housner, a paraprofessional at Weston schools, brought her Jimmy the Groundhog puppet to celebrate Groundhog Day this month. She has been sharing her groundhog with pre-K classes at Weston for 14 years. The tradition began when Housner lived in Sun Prairie and would go see the original Jimmy the Groundhog every year.
