The week for the Reedsburg Pirates started on a down note in Home Talent Baseball but ended in much more of a positive vibe.

River Valley closed out SWC Girls Soccer play for 2026 with an exciting 4-3 win over the Dodgeville/Mineral Point co-op last Tuesday on the road. The win gives the Blackhawks a final mark of 7-1-2 in league play, good for second place behind 8-1-1 Platteville/Lancaster.

The Reedsburg Beaver boys golf team picked a great day for their best team score of the season last week. Reedsburg was part of an 8-team WIAA D-1 Regional hosted by Sparta last Tuesday and the Beavers shot their way to an impressive score of 312, the best mark of the season for the Beavers, and one of the best team marks in school history.

Ithaca/Weston was able to qualify seven entries from the WIAA D-3 Regional at River Ridge High School to the Sectional at Bangor High School in Track and Field competition last Tuesday. Senior Ethan Lee added to his long list of championships in his storied high school career with Regional titles in the 1600 and 3200 on Tuesday.

Ithaca/Weston has captured a WIAA Regional championship in the first year as a co-op softball program at the varsity level with I/W posting wins at Ithaca High School last week over North Crawford and Hillsboro as the post-season slate got underway.

The Beaver softball team was able to win one WIAA Tournament game but the second round was a hurdle to big to climb as Reedsburg fell in a D-2 Regional semi-final at Mount Horeb last Tuesday by a score of 13-2 against their conference rivals.

River Valley had a tough assignment to begin last week on the softball diamond, having to face the two-seed Lodi in a WIAA D-3 Regional semi-final at their park and the season came to a close for the Blackhawks in an 8-4 loss.

Reedsburg’s final home match of the 2026 high school girls soccer season resulted in a 5-1 loss to Lodi last Tuesday at RAHS as the temps were at their highest of the season. Reedsburg had nine shots offensively but only one goal, from Maddie Miller. Cyana Stanek and Sam Laffey split time in net and combined for 14 saves.

The Reedsburg Beaver boys track and field squad was coming off a Badger Small championship the week prior but that didn’t mean automatic success as they ventured to Sauk-Prairie High School for last Tuesday’s WIAA D-1 Regional which featured a field of heavyweights such as Holmen. Middleton, Baraboo and Waunakee among others.

Some of the best baseball played this season by the River Valley Blackhawks took place this past week as Coach Matt Bakkum’s squad defeated Wisconsin Heights in the regular season finale and then routed Lancaster to begin the post-season, both at River Valley High School.
