Regional students make grade at UW-Stevens Point

Students in the area achieved high academic marks for the fall semester at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.

Reedsburg residents included Hanna Kiel, junior, honors; Cade Ravenscroft, first-year student, high honors; and Courtney Sakry, senior, honors.

Reedsburg woman named ambassador for college

Bria Marie Clendenning of Reedsburg has been listed as an ambassador for Jacksonville State University for the 2020-2021 school year.

As an ambassador, Clendenning will act has a host for visitors, leading tours and talking about aspects of campus life.

Students make dean’s list at UW-Superior

Residents from Cazenovia, Reedsburg and La Valle made the University of Wisconsin-Superior Dean’s List for the fall 2020 semester.

To qualify, students must complete at least 12 credits with a GPA of at least 3.5.

School Board election will require primary

Three candidates are running for a seat on the Reedsburg School Board, meaning there will be a primary election on Feb. 16. Two challengers, Leo Almedia and Sonny Hyde, will challenge incumbent Alice Heckenbach for the city of Reedsburg seat. The two who emerge with the most votes will advance to the regular spring election on April 6.

“Let’s not get ahead of ourselves.” “Let’s let it play out.” Those were the words of Gary Damaschke at the Wisconsin Heights December 21 meeting on the topic of how involved the board should get when it came to design for the renovated and expanded building.

Weston holds first child screening of year Jan. 18

The Weston School District will host its annual Child Find from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Jan. 18.

This screening is for kids who will be 4 years old as of Sept. 1, 2021. Appointments are required.

A separate date will be held in the spring to screen 3-year-olds in the Weston School District.
