The Wisconsin Heights School District will be presenting residents with another referendum in the spring election. In the wake of a $27 million facilities referendum in the fall, the District has decided to go forward with the question of a $7.5 million auditorium project.
The Weston School District held its spelling bee on Jan. 15.
Fifth Grader Payton Olson won by first spelling “fountain,” then “gilded.” The runner-up was Seventh Grader Briella Granger, followed by third-place contestant Gerald Coleman III, a seventh grader.
Children in grades three through eight competed in 13 rounds.
The fate of a new auditorium will be known--in part--next week at the Wisconsin Heights School Board meeting. At their January 25 meeting, the board will decide if a $7.5 million auditorium project will appear on the April ballot.
