Weston holds first child screening of year Jan. 18

The Weston School District will host its annual Child Find from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Jan. 18.

This screening is for kids who will be 4 years old as of Sept. 1, 2021. Appointments are required.

A separate date will be held in the spring to screen 3-year-olds in the Weston School District.

School Board seeks input in administrator search

The Reedsburg School District Board of Education invites the public to help it choose the next administrator.

Current Admin Tom Benson plans to retire at the end of this school year. His final day will be June 30.

The Board has hired a consultant, Don Stevens and Associates, to help with the search.

Grand Avenue holds read-a-thon

The 4th grade families at Grand Avenue had a read-a-thon for the Sauk Prairie Food Pantry. After all donations were counted, we raised $1,006.00! Wow! How generous! Here are 4th graders from both our A and B days with Kris Ballweg and Jaimie Patterson from the food pantry. Thank you to everyone who donated!

Grand Avenue--Above the Line

The December Above The Line theme was “Responsibility.” The students listed received awards on Thursday, December 17th & Friday, December  22nd from their classroom teacher or staff member who felt that they are an individual that is responsible.  Congratulations to these students!   Cohort B

Merrimac students make cards for veterans

Two school board members won’t run for re-election

A Reedsburg School District Board of Education seat will remain empty next year unless someone steps up to fill it.

Current board member John Laukant has filed paperwork of non-candidacy for the Area III seat. As of the Indy’s deadline this week, no one had filed papers indicating their interest in the seat.

Reedsburg public schools stay hybrid through holidays

Students won’t be staying home for school the week of New Year’s.

At Monday night’s special meeting, the Reedsburg School District Board of Education voted to remain at hybrid education Jan. 4 through 8. A proposal on the agenda called for only virtual education that week, but the board rejected the idea.
