The Sauk Prairie School District board will be voting on the model to be used for the fall at their next meeting. The meeting will be held on Monday, August 10, at 6:30 p.m. There will be a virtual attendance option.
Superintendent Jeff Wright wrote the following to parents:
“That’s what we’re hanging our hat on--safety.”
That’s what Wisconsin Heights District Administrator said drove the decision to open the school year online only for the district.
The Wisconsin Heights School Board decided on Monday, July 27, to hold school online and virtual until at least November 4. The meeting was well attended by the public--for the COVID-19 era--and the board received email communications from parents both in support and against the measure.

Sauk Prairie School District Families:
Merrimac Community Charter School will now be known as Merrimac Community School, in the wake of a few changes coming in the fall. Due to changes from the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction, the school will dissolve its charter with the State of Wisconsin and now enter in agreement with the Sauk Prairie School District.
Wisconsin Heights seniors will get a drive-in graduation this year, at Warner Park on August 7. Since Dane County will most likely progress to a less restrictive phase, current social distancing regulations will apply.
The Sauk Prairie School District complied with the Star News’ public records request 13 days after it was filed, for documents concerning the June 22 board meeting. The documents were received on July 6. The Star News sought the same documents board members receive for each meeting.
