The Sauk Prairie School District is exploring the next steps in reopening the school, and the Board discussed a draft proposal from Superintendent Jeff Wright at their Sept. 14 meeting. Wright emphasized that the draft was to “frame a discussion,” and the board took no action on it.

The Wisconsin Heights School Board voted four to three in favor of a facilities referendum in the fall, asking residents if they’re willing to fund $27 million to make much-needed improvements to the District buildings. The board also voted unanimously to modify the sports season, by pushing back start dates and shortening seasons.

The Sauk Prairie School District welcomed new teachers last week for the fall trimester.

Wisconsin Heights Board of Education Approves  One Referendum Question for November 3 Ballot    At its August 24 meeting, the Wisconsin Heights Board of Education approved one referendum question for the November 3 ballot and turned down a second question. 

In addition to wrestling with an online model for the fall, the Wisconsin Heights School Board talked about the tenability of putting a referendum question on the fall or spring ballot. The District has been looking at a roughly $30 million facilities upgrade.

Coronavirus has forced Reedsburg schools to rethink some of their plans for the upcoming year.

With cases continuing—and a recent positive test connected to school registration—officials agreed to make some changes to the calendar during Monday night’s regular school board meeting.

Reedsburg Area High School Student Council will hold its usual retreat this fall.

This year’s event will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Aug. 28 at the high school.

New and continuing council members in grades nine through 12 are welcome to attend and help plan out activities for the upcoming school year.

A person who attended registration for the Reedsburg School District has tested positive for COVID-19, according to Sauk County Public Health.

The individual, who did not have symptoms at the time, participated in registration on Aug. 11.

The Sauk Prairie School District will return to classes with a hybrid model this fall. The board approved the model five to one at the end of a marathon three hour meeting Monday night. Parents will still have the option to opt in to virtual only.
