BLACK EARTH - Thomas Isaac Wilkins passed away April 28, 2020, at Aster Assisted Living in Monroe, Wis. He was born July 13, 1936, in Madison, Wis. to Otto and Myrella (Halverson) Wilkins. 

Larry J. Wermuth, age 73, passed away on April 22, 2020 at Creekside Terrace in Belton, Texas.  He was born on September 17, 1946 in Madison, Wisconsin, the son of Frank and Ila (Polglase) Wermuth.

Dorothy Ann Zimmerman (Check) passed away peacefully on April 25, 2020 at Maplewood Nursing Home in Sauk City. She was born in Prairie du Chein May 19, 1930 the daughter of the late John and Amelia (Berntgen) Check. Dorothy grew up in the Prairie du Chien area and married Elden Zimmerman May 20, 1950; he preceded her in death on Nov. 21, 2019.

Helen A. Danz, 93, of Asbury, Iowa died peacefully at home on April 16, 2020.  Private Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, April 20, 2020 at Church of the Resurrection, Dubuque, Iowa.  Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Dubuque, Iowa. Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road is assisting the family.

Donald “Fritzie” Doescher, age 65, passed away in the comfort of his own home, surrounded by family on Apr.

Alan B. Shanks, age 81, former Sauk County Sheriff and retired Wisconsin Emergency Management Director, gifted his beloved wife with his presence in their heavenly home on what would have been her 77th Birthday.  Al passed peacefully in Merrimac, in his home on Apr. 11, 2020.  He was born Mar.

Darrell “Mac” McCluskey, age 94, passed away on April 7, 2020.  He was born July 9, 1925, to the late William and Helena McCluskey in Madison, Wi.  Mac graduated from East High School in the class of 1943.  He served in the US Army from 1943-1946.  He married the love of his life Dolores “Dode” Baebler in 1949 and were together for 63 years.  She p

Retired US AF Colonel Thomas “Tom” O’Regan Haig died of natural causes Sunday, March 15, 2020, at 9:10 p.m. at Agrace Hospice in Fitchburg, WI. He was 98 years old.
