Oral Jean Gilbertson

Oral Jean Gilbertson Oral Jean Gilbertson, age 87 of Spring Green, passed away on Monday, November 16, 2020, at Sauk Prairie Healthcare.  She was born on June 6, 1933, in Loyal, the daughter of John and Frieda (Rohloff) Olsen.  Oral attended the one room Pleasant Ridge Grade School.  She graduated from Loyal High School in 1951 and four years later from Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa.  Oral started teaching Home Economics at Spring Green High School in 1955 and after retirement substituted teaching at River Valley High School and Dodgeville High School.  She was married on July 13, 1957, to Nordeen M. Gilbertson and was a loyal member of First Lutheran Church in Lone Rock since 1957.  Survivors include her four sons, Jesse (Maureen), Brian (Marianne), Merlin (Heather), Dennis (Mary), all of Spring Green; 11 grandchildren, Craig (Sarah) Gilbertson and their children, Destiny and Madison, Carl (Chelsea) Gilbertson and their son, Liam, Sierra (David) Stafford and their children, Paige and Alexi, Mitch (Kelsey) Gilbertson and their children, Blake and Rhett, Nick (Melissa) Smart, Brooke, Trevor, Shelby and Chayse Gilbertson, Kaitlyn Granger and her children, Joshua and Aurora, Whitney Granger; a sister, Bonnie (Marvin) Marg of Marshfield; two brothers-in-law, Glen Bloom of Loyal, Delano (Pat) Gilbertson of Spring Green; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Frieda Olsen; her husband, Nordeen Gilbertson; two sisters, Agnes Bloom and Virgene Dahlby; and a brother-in-law, Vern Dahlby.  Funeral services were held on Monday, November 23, 2020, at the Richardson-Stafford Funeral Home in Spring Green.  Pastor Steven Schneider officiated with burial in the Otter Creek Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First Lutheran Church in Lone Rock.  Online condolences available at  www.staffordfuneralhomes.com.
