Obituary: Benjamin R. Dilley

Benjamin R. Dilley, age 80, of Reedsburg, passed away on Wednesday, November 25, 2020. He was born on November 11, 1940 in Crawford County, Wisconsin, the son of the late William and Ethel (Copus) Dilley. He was married to Sharon Ferguson, who preceded him in death on February 10, 2007. Ben was a member of the Bible Baptist Church in Reedsburg.

Ben was known for his love of farming and in his later years his helpfulness and kindness he showed while working at the hardware store. He always had a smile to share, he said life is just better when you smile. He enjoyed the Packers, Badgers and Brewers especially when he could watch the games with his family.

He is survived by his children and step-children: Sheila Ware, Duane (Dawn) Dilley, James Dilley (Lisa), Julie Hisel (Steve), Viola Champagne, Toni Astle, Heather (Ivan) Stenner, Tiffany McMahon, Shawn McMahon, Cathy (Jeremy) Phephles; many many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; brothers and sister: George Dilley, John (Leila) Dilley, Stanley (Rita) Dilley and Miona Young; and his sister-in-law Pat Dilley.

He is preceded in death by, brother-in-law Hank Young, brother Frank Dilley, sister Willa and brother-in law Raymond Monroe, sister Meredith and brother-in-law George Hembree, brother Clarence Dilley, brother Manuel Dilley, and son-in-law George Ware.

Funeral services for Benjamin R. Dilley were conducted at 11:30 A.M. on Saturday, November 28, 2020 at the Bible Baptist Church in Reedsburg with Pastor Fred Weiss officiating. Visitation was held from 9:30 A.M. until the time of the service at the church. Burial will be made at a later date in Greenwood Cemetery.
