Mary Jane Sprecher, age 73, passed away at St. Clare Meadows in Baraboo on Mar. 28, 2020.  She was born in Baraboo on Dec. 9, 1946 to the late Walter and Erna (Groener) Bretsch. Mary attended Baraboo High School and graduated in the class of 1965.  That same year, she was united in marriage to Paul R. Sprecher from Blackhawk on Aug.

Mom was born on the family farm north of Leland on September 11, 1918 to parents Richard Repka and Theresa (Reinecke) Repka. She passed away peacefully at home on March 20, 2020 at the age of 101. March 20 was her father’s birthday.

Daryl C. Ruhland, age 66, passed away peacefully at UW Hospital surrounded by loved ones on March 15, 2020. He was born in Madison, Wisconsin to the late Victor and Edna (Haas) Ruhland. Daryl graduated from Sauk Prairie High School class of 1972. He was united in marriage to Mary C. Rosen on August 12, 1978.

Susan was born December 12, 1960 in Sauk Prairie, the daughter of Cliff and Lois (Lucey) Pieper.  She spent the first years of life in Sauk City.  At the age of six she attended Lapham Orthopedic School, and graduated from Madison Memorial High School’s special education program for the developmentally disabled.

Jacqueline Suzanne Vieregge, nee Olson, age 85, of Hudson, WI, died Thursday, March 12, 2020 at Red Cedar Canyon Senior Living in Hudson.  Jackie was born to Harvey and Hazel Olson in Ettrick, WI on July 13, 1934.  She grew up and thrived in the small town with her younger sister, Maxine, and loving, hard working parents.  Jackie married Evan Don V

David “Dave” Frey passed away at home on March 19, 2020, at the age of 66, following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.  Dave was born on March 5, 1954 in Baraboo, the son of the late Werner and Leona (Haselwander) Frey.  He grew up in Sauk City and graduated from Sauk Prairie High School in 1972.  He married Diane Laubmeier on September 2

BLACK EARTH - William Henry “Bill” Wille passed away Monday March 9, 2020, in his home after living several years with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP).

Vernice J. Anstice, age 92, passed away Sunday, March 8, 2020 at SSM Health St. Clare Meadows Care Center in Baraboo. She is survived by 3 daughters, Sharrie, Carla, Darla; a brother, August Bingham; a niece, Sue Newmann; a nephew, Jr. Bingham; many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Scott Alan Kirner, age 57, passed away at University Hospital in Madison on Mar. 13, 2020 surrounded by family and loved ones.  He was born Feb. 7, 1963 to Jack and Patricia (Stewart) Kirner.  Scott graduated from Sauk Prairie High School; class of 1981.  He went on to attend University of Wisconsin Madison where he graduated with a B.S.

Rodney “Rod” A. Peterson, age 72, passed away peacefully at Maplewood of Sauk Prairie on Mar. 12, 2020.  He was born in Dodgeville on Dec. 10, 1947 to the late Darvin and Anne (Hendrickson) Peterson.  Rod graduated from Sauk Prairie High School; class of 1966.  He was united in marriage to Mary Jo Zajicek on Nov. 5, 1977 at St.
