Weston girls hoopsters experience big night vs. New Lisbon before loss to Royall

For the first time in over 10 years, Weston won a post-season high school girls basketball game last week and it occurred on the home floor. Weston opened the post-season last Tuesday with an exciting 74-68 win over New Lisbon and it was the first home game in WIAA Tournament play for the Weston girls since 2011.

Eagles fall in regional semis

In a year of uncertainly, Sauk Prairie’s girls basketball program took some positive steps forward. So, while the second-seeded Eagles’ season ended with a disappointing 72-67 loss to visiting third-seeded McFarland in a WIAA Division 2 regional semifinal game last Friday night, there certainly were no regrets.

Eagles soared at state

The Sauk Prairie-Wisconsin Heights boys swimming team finished fourth at the WIAA Division 2 state meet on Feb. 6.  Clockwise, from top, are some of the Eagles’ top finishes: • The Eagles’ 200 freestyle relay team finished fourth. • Matthew Loy was fourth in the 50-yard freestyle and fourth in the 100-yard freestyle.
