Multiple football conference alignments to be considered by WIAA

A high school football conference realignment plan that affects 11 conferences and 23 schools, including Reedsburg and Baraboo, was not approved by the WIAA Board of Control last Friday.

Laurissa Pickel earns All-Conference honors for 3rd time for Weston girls basketball

River Valley wrestlers bring home all-conference honors

The River Valley High School varsity wrestling team had six wrestlers named to the Southwest Wisconsin Conference All Conference teams for the 2020-2021 school year. Keeghan Kjos, wrestling in the 160 pound weight division, was named to the first team all-conference.

Iverson steps down at Sauk

Clay Iverson was optimistic things would work themselves out. Iverson, Sauk Prairie’s football coach in 2019 and 2020 and a Business teacher at the high school, was driving every day from Waukesha. Iverson loved what he did, liked where the football program was headed and hoped to eventually move his family to the community.

Heights spikers have high hopes

The wait is over. And Wisconsin Heights girls volleyball coach Kala O’Connell is giddy thinking about what the next six weeks could entail. The Vanguards’ season typically runs in the fall. Due to COVID-19, though, the WIAA gave teams the option of postponing fall sports to the spring, and Wisconsin Heights elected to do just that.

Signing Day!

Sauk Prairie football players (from left) Owen Diehl, Isaac Breunig and Ethan Gibbs all signed their letters of intent to play college football last week. Diehl will be playing at UW-Stout, Breunig will play at UW-Eau Claire and Gibbs signed with UW-Whitewater.
