Beavers part of impressive field of teams at WIAA D-2 State Girls Basketball

The Reedsburg Beavers will be looking to bring home a state championship in girls basketball this weekend as Reedsburg will join three other schools in the WIAA D-2 State Tournament, being played all in one day on Saturday, at the La Crosse Center.

Beaver gymnasts qualify full team for WIAA State meet

Saturday was quite a day for Reedsburg Beaver sports to say the least. The Reedsburg Beaver girls basketball team qualified for the D-2 State Tournament at RAHS that night and about four hours earlier, the Beaver gymnasts also punched a ticket to the D-2 State Meet at the Platteville Sectional.

Beaver girls basketball is State Tournament-bound after win over McFarland

When the high school basketball season started this year, Reedsburg Beaver girls Head Coach Mark Simon hinted that this might be the best team he’s had in his 15 years in charge of the program. As we come to the end of February, nothing has happened that would make one think that statement is inaccurate.

Wrestling smelt feed is Feb. 28

The Reedsburg Wrestling Association’s 45th Annual Smelt Feed and pork sandwiches event is set for Sunday, Feb. 28, at Brewster’s Lanes in Reedsburg.

Serving is from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and tickets are $12 in advance, $15 at the door.

Options will include dine-in, carry outs and drive-through.

Weston boys play well but lose late at Ithaca in WIAA Regional basketball

When the Weston Silver Eagle boys basketball team faced the Ithaca Bulldogs in their only regular season meeting this year, Ithaca was in control for most of the game en route to a 73-43 victory.

Silverwolves co-op gearing up for unique season, switch to 8-man football

It’s been a strange year for all area high school athletes because of the coronavirus and all of the COVID regulations and protocols. That uniqueness will reach a new level for members of the Weston/Wonewoc-Center Silverwolves football program in the coming weeks.

Sauk Prairie drops a thriller

A season to remember came down to one final shot for Sauk Prairie’s boys basketball team last Friday night. When a last-second attempt from three-point range for senior guard Tyler Uselman came up short, though, the lights went out on a memorable career for nine Eagles seniors.
