RWD ready for post-season play after going 1-1 to close regular season

RWD has put the wraps on the regular season in high school boys hockey with two final games last week. The Reedsburg/Wisconsin Dells/Mauston co-op made a long trip to Janesville and posted a 3-1 victory before a regular season ending loss at Onalaska, 7-2.

Ithaca/Weston wrestlers send 8 to Mineral Point Sectional, win Regional team title

Saturday was a strong day to say the least for the Ithaca/Weston wrestling co-op. I/W advanced eight wrestlers from the D-3 Regional at Westby to this Saturday’s Sectional at Mineral Point and five of the eight won Regional titles as well.

Beavers rout Logan in girls basketball as post-season approaches

The Reedsburg Beaver girls basketball team had to wait until Saturday to get in any game action last week but the Beavers didn’t show any rust as they posted another lopsided win, 77-29, over La Crosse Logan at RAHS.

Beaver wrestlers win Regional title at Baraboo, advance 7 to Sectionals on Saturday

An already good season for the Reedsburg Beaver wrestlers got even better on Saturday. Reedsburg was one of seven schools competing at the WIAA D-1 Regional in Baraboo and the Beavers came away with the most points in the team scoring, edging out Waunakee by seven points with Baraboo in third place.

Beaver gymnasts score well in dual meet win over Baraboo

Scores and individual performances continue to improve for the Reedsburg Beaver gymnastics team as February arrives. Reedsburg topped 129 team points for the first time this season in a dual meet early last week vs. Mt. Horeb and then bettered that score slightly with 129.775 team points last Friday in a dual meet win at Baraboo.

Badger Lightning win 2 games up north in girls hockey action

It was a successful trip up north for the Badger Lightning girls high school hockey co-op on Saturday. The Lightning won two games in the same day, defeating Medford 5-1 and the Northern Edge team, 7-1. It was wins number three and four for the season for the local squad.

It’s been a magical regular season for Sauk Prairie’s co-op hockey team. And now, the Eagles — which include skaters from Mount Horeb — have a chance to make it an unforgettable postseason.

Eagles’ girls seeded second

It’s been an up and down year for Sauk Prairie’s girls basketball team. But the Eagles did enough good things to earn the No. 2 seed in their five-team, postseason pod. Madison Edgewood is the top seed, followed by Sauk Prairie, McFarland, Mount Horeb and Stoughton.

Eagles’ boys topple Portage

They were down four starters. By the end of the game, they were without six players. But Sauk Prairie’s boys basketball team never blinked. Instead, the Eagles battled, scrapped and pulled out a thrilling 57-52 win over host Portage on Jan. 28. Sauk Prairie improved to 7-3 on the year, while the Warriors fell to 4-12.
