Mirror Lake group organizes evening concert

The Friends of Mirror Lake State Park is gearing up for its first Friday evening concert.

The performance will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Aug. 13 at the amphitheater, E10320 Fern Dell Road, Baraboo.

Singer/songwriter Cris Plata and his Tex-Mex band will entertain.

First Presbyterian Church welcomes new pastor

A familiar face has taken charge in the pulpit at Reedsburg’s First Presbyterian Church.

Pastor Lisa Newberry is the official new pastor of the long-standing church. Newberry has been with the Baraboo church for about 10 years and filled in when former Pastor Joe Corbin retired.

Concerts in the Park wrap up with Swifkick

The final Concert in the Park will begin at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 18 at Reedsburg City Park.

Swifkick is the last band of the season. The group plays top 40 country hits and classic rock.

Keller named to dean’s list

A Cazenovia resident was part of the dean’s list for the spring semester at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities.

Sadie Keller, a junior, is studying in the Carlson School of Management.

To qualify, students must complete at least 12 credits and carry a GPA of at least 3.66.

Man with local ties competes in Olympics

An athlete whose family has connections to Reedsburg made an appearance in this year’s Olympics in Tokyo.

Joe Klecker placed 16th in the men’s 10,000 meter event on July 30. He was one of 25 athletes in the division. He finished with a time of 28:14.18.

During the team trials, he placed third with a time of 27:54.90.

La Valle Celebration is this weekend

La Valle will hold its community Celebration on Saturday, Aug. 7, and Sunday, Aug. 8.

This 56th annual event will feature a run/walk, parade, games and food sales.
