Pictured here are the on-stage performers for this year’s Reedsburg Junior Players Summer Theater program. The students, ranging in grades 6-9, performed four shows over the weekend at the CAL Center with each show consisting of 5 mini-musicals. The program returned this year after 2020 had no such shows due to the pandemic.

Sauk County Public Health offers vaccines

Sauk County Public Health will have COVID-19 vaccines available throughout the county this summer.

All shots will be free, will not require identification or insurance, and will be administered to those 12 and older. Appointments will not be taken; only walk-ins will be accepted.

Regional scholars make dean’s list in Milwaukee

Numerous natives earned a place on the dean’s list for the spring semester at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

La Valle student Thomas Roessler made the list. He is a science undergraduate.

Sacred Heart hosts mobile pantry

A mobile food pantry will begin at 4 p.m. July 22 at Sacred Heart.

It will take place in the parking lot along North Willow Street.

This will be an in-person event, not a drive-through function. Anyone who needs food is welcome, and supplies will be handed out while they last.

Bria Clendenning of Reedsburg will be a leader at Jacksonville State University during the next school year.

She was elected to student senate, which includes 30 members who represent the student body.

Wisconsin mystery author Jeff Nania to visit Reedsburg Public Library

Fans of mysteries and books with a Wisconsin setting are in for a treat on Thursday, July 29, at 7 p.m. when mystery author Jeff Nania visits the Reedsburg Public Library to talk about his Northern Lakes book series.

The series begins with “Figure Eight,” published in 2018 by Little Creek Press in Mineral Point.

A handful of area students made the dean’s list at Viterbo University for the spring semester.

They included Lucy Check of La Valle and Kirsten Southworth, Michelle Brockway and Michael Olson, all of Reedsburg.

Legion holds brat fry

The Reedsburg American Legion will serve up brats from 98 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 24 at Viking BP.

Volunteers will sell food to raise money for veteran causes.

Late 4 Dinner plays Concert in the Park

The next Concert in the Park will begin at 6:30 p.m. July 28 at Reedsburg City Park.

It will feature Late 4 Dinner, which plays everything from Elvis to the Beatles to Jimmy Buffett to Johnny Cash.

Bring a blanket or lawn chairs for seating. Local groups will sell concessions.
