Since the first revolutionaries signed the Declaration of Independence in 1776, the 4th of July has been celebrated as a milestone for the freedom of all Americans. Early Sauk County pioneers were no exception, and they marked the day of Independence with celebrations, dances and games.

City of Reedsburg holds recycling event for appliances, electronics

Reedsburg residents who need to get rid of unwanted items may want to check out the next electronics recycling event in August.

It will be held from 8 a.m. to noon Aug. 7 at Nishan Park.

Bring items in the back of your vehicle and remain inside; workers will be on site to haul out your refuse.

Residents may complete an online survey at reedsburgcompplan.mindmixer.com/.

The comprehensive plan will help guide land use, economic development, recreation, conservation and business opportunities for the next 20 years.

Hillpoint resident graduates from River Falls

A Hillpoint resident has earned a degree from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.

Rachel Hoff graduated with a bachelor’s degree in animal science following the spring semester. Hoff was among 751 undergraduates to receive bachelor’s degrees.

Flood-damaged homes start coming down in Reedsburg

It’s tough to miss the empty spaces cropping up on Reedsburg’s west side.

After years of waiting on FEMA and jumping through hoops, the City has finally received the go-ahead to purchase and demolish homes damaged in the August 2018 flood.
