The December Above The Line theme was “Responsibility.” The students listed received awards on Thursday, December 17th & Friday, December 22nd from their classroom teacher or staff member who felt that they are an individual that is responsible. Congratulations to these students!

A Reedsburg School District Board of Education seat will remain empty next year unless someone steps up to fill it.
Current board member John Laukant has filed paperwork of non-candidacy for the Area III seat. As of the Indy’s deadline this week, no one had filed papers indicating their interest in the seat.
The Reedsburg School District wants to offer more support for employees affected by COVID-19, but actions by the state or federal government may affect the decision.

Students won’t be staying home for school the week of New Year’s.
At Monday night’s special meeting, the Reedsburg School District Board of Education voted to remain at hybrid education Jan. 4 through 8. A proposal on the agenda called for only virtual education that week, but the board rejected the idea.
It’s already looking like there will be at least one contested race on the Reedsburg School District Board of Education.
According to the latest numbers from the executive assistant’s office, Leo Almeida of Reedsburg has filed papers to run against incumbent Alice Heckenbach for the city of Reedsburg seat.
At the November 23 meeting, Wisconsin Heights District Administrator presented the legal framework surrounding orders, recommendations, and guidance, coming from the state and County. All three have an impact on the District’s liability.
Sauk Prairie School District will be rolling out a virtual model for the first week of the 2021 school year. Students with last names from L to Z will meet three times--Monday, Wednesday, and Friday--and students from A to M will meet Tuesday and Thursday. The District will remain in a hybrid model after the first week.
