School district may need to act regarding COVID-19 this week

Reedsburg Area High School Homecoming is next week

It will soon be Homecoming Week for the Reedsburg Area School District.

RAHS will hold its festivities from Sept. 20-25. This year’s theme is Neon Glow Hoco.

It all kicks off Monday with a girls football game at 7 p.m. at Millennium Field.

School starts next week

Where did summer go?

Reedsburg public schools open Wednesday, Sept. 1.

Prior to the big day, schools will hold open houses from noon to 6 p.m. Aug. 26. This is an opportunity for parents to visit the schools, for kids to find their classrooms, meet teachers and drop off supplies.

RAHS Student Council holds summer retreat

Reedsburg Area High School students who are interested in serving on Student Council are invited to attend a summer retreat.

It will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 30 in the High School Commons. Sub sandwiches will be served but students should bring their own beverage or water bottle, which can be filled at the school.

A lengthy Reedsburg School Board meeting Monday night resulted in the approval of COVID procedures for the upcoming school year.

The vote passed with one nay from Board Member Gabe Bauer.

Sauk Prairie School District to use multiple protocols to determine masking, provides parents with weekly data on website

The Sauk Prairie School District voted to approve a masking rubric that has certain thresholds. District Superintendent Jeff Wright explained the process in an email to parents. He explained the goals: “Our goal remains to keep our schools open to safely serve students.

Wisconsin Heights to require masks for Pre-K through 6, grades 7 through 12 are optional

The Wisconsin Heights School Board voted 5-2 to reinstate the use of masks this fall at their Aug. 9 meeting. Mike Wagner and Angie Wolf were the dissenting votes. The District will follow the following guidelines:

Sauk Prairie School District receives $40,000 donation from Sports Boosters for grandstand enclosure

The Sauk Prairie School Board recently accepted a $40,000 donation from the Sauk Prairie Sports Boosters to help fund the stadium grandstand enclosure. Preliminary school budget calls for reduction for taxpayers

Reedsburg taxpayers will get a small break on the school portion of their tax bill under the preliminary district budget.

The budget 2021-22 budget calls for a projected levy rate of $7.88 per $1,000 of equalized property value. This is a decrease from the previous rate of $7.93 per $1,000.
