Reedsburg celebrated School Board Week

Last week, the Reedsburg School District marked Wisconsin School Board Week to recognize the important roles of these elected officials.

The week gives the community and district the opportunity to learn more about how school boards work and why members should be acknowledged for their commitment.

Enrollment rises at Reedsburg schools

The latest numbers are in and bode well for the Reedsburg School District.

Preschool special education numbers stood at 18 in September, up from 12 the same time last year. Enrollment also increased among 4- and 5-year-olds, from 140 to 145 and 151 to 158, respectively.

Sauk Prairie School District’s tax impact comes in lower than expected

Sauk Prairie School District’s tax rate will come in under projections made during the run-up to the new construction, coming in 25 cents lower than last year. The project levy for 2021-22 is $9.54 per $100,000 of assessed value. Over the past ten years the district has kept the levy stable, at around $10.

Weston Homecoming is Sept. 27-Oct. 2

The Weston School District will hold its Homecoming celebration Sept. 27 through Oct. 2.

This year’s theme is Around the World.

Dress up days will be Safari on Monday, Dress like a Teacher on Tuesday, Old West on Thursday, Beach on Thursday and Weston Wear on Friday.
