The School District of Reedsburg has taken another step on its journey to finalizing its budget.
In July, the School Board agreed to continue with debt defeasance — an action that aims to save money in the long run, put the district in better financial shape and make taxes more predictable for both district leaders and taxpayers.
Wisconsin Reading Corps is seeking a reading tutor to begin serving in Mazomanie at Wisconsin Heights Elementary School in August. Overall, 300 tutors are being sought to serve in schools across the state for the 2022-23 school year.
In preparation for the upcoming school year, the Weston School District has announced income requirements for families to qualify for free or reduced-price lunch or milk.
Households that make below a certain amount of income can qualify for food or milk for their children.
The State of Wisconsin has released its predictions about how much money districts will receive for the upcoming school year and, at least so far, it doesn’t look like Reedsburg will see much of an increase.

The number of seclusion and restraint instances at the Reedsburg School District doesn’t appear to be rising.
It was a pretty average year, according Jeff Bindl, director of special education and pupil services. Bindl made a presentation on the topic before the Reedsburg School Board last week.
