The May Above The Line theme was “Citizenship.” The students listed below received awards on Friday, May 13, from their classroom teacher or staff who felt that they are an individual that demonstrates citizenship in and out of the classroom. Congratulations to these students!

On May 18, the Sauk Prairie Optimist Club honored Sauk Prairie School District retirees at a breakfast held at the River Arts Center Gallery at Sauk Prairie High School.
Prairie Ridge Intermediate School was constructed in the last referendum done through the Reedsburg School District. In preparation for a possible future referendum, the district seeks to create a master facilities plan, which will help guide decision making regarding construction, renovation and expansion. The Reedsburg School District anticipates growth in the next 15 years, which prompted officials to create a master plan.
During Monday night’s meeting, the School Board agreed to solicit bids for facilities master planning and possibly architectural design services. The bids will be accepted through June 24.

Through a competitive application process, the Sauk Prairie School District has been selected for the 2022-2023 Teachers of Critical Languages Program. The Teachers of Critical Languages Program (TCLP) is designed to increase and strengthen the study and acquisition of Mandarin Chinese and Arabic language in U.S. schools.
Students in Kathy Haig’s sophomore research class at Wisconsin Heights Middle and High School recently competed in the National History Day® (NHD) Contest. The regional and state events were held virtually in Madison, WI in February and April, and the national event will be held virtually from June 12-18 in College Park, Maryland.
The Reedsburg School District is planning a sendoff for two elementaries that will be closing after this school year.
Open houses are planned at Loganville and Ironton-La Valle Elementary Schools. The Loganville one will take place from 4 to 6 p.m. May 18, and La Valle’s will be from 4 to 6 p.m. May 25.
Bridges Elementary held their Bridges Bolt last week. Each student gathered pledges for the distance they were going to run. After putting in those hard miles, 4K students were offered treats--a banana or an ice pop.
The Weston School District held its Annual Career Fair in late April.
The fair is part of the district’s academic and career plan. Students had the opportunity to attend three sessions based on their interests. Each career cluster featured two or three presenters.
