Sauk Prairie School District honors Sauk Prairie Healthcare and McFarlanes’ for their work

The Sauk Prairie School District School Board recently recognized Sauk Prairie Healthcare and McFarlanes Manufacturing for their support of the district’s schools and the role each company played in the earning of a $2.44 million Workforce Innovation grant to advance the district’s programs in Advanced Manufacturing, Agriculture, and Medical Careers. Both companies were honored as part of the Wisconsin Association of School Board’s 2022 Business Honor Roll program. The program recognizes local school district business partners that support the schools in their communities by providing additional learning opportunities for students and staff. In December of 2021, the Sauk Prairie School District was selected as one of 12 recipients of a Workforce Innovation grant from the State of Wisconsin. McFarlane Manufacturing and Sauk Prairie Healthcare were primary partners in the development of the grant and advising the district’s ongoing work in developing programs for students and community members to strengthen the community’s workforce. The new horticultural learning center at Sauk Prairie High School and new courses in Phlebotomy and Specimen Processing were both made possible by this grant funding. “McFarlanes and Sauk Prairie Healthcare are both important partners for our district,” commented Board President Rich Judge. “Their support helped make us the only school district selected in the first round of Workforce Innovation grants.” Superintendent Jeff Wright shared, “Sauk Prairie Healthcare and McFarlanes are helping ensure our programs match student interest and community need.
