Above the Line

The January Above The Line theme was “Trustworthiness.”  The students listed below received awards on Friday, January 20th, from their classroom teacher or staff who felt that they are an individual that is trustworthy.  Congratulations to these students!

Bridges climbing wall ready for little hands and feet

The Bridges Elementary School climbing wall has become reality. Last school year students worked hard to raise funds during their first annual Bridges Bolt. These funds helped to purchase the climbing wall. It even has adaptive pieces to make it more accessible. Bridges student and staff thank the community for their help with the project.

Grand Avenue Elementary holds spelling bee

The Grand Avenue Spelling Bee took place on Wednesday, January 18th. There were 26 finalists who participated. The final seven will compete in Portage at the end of this month. Congratulations to them and good luck in Portage! Pictured are all the competitors.

Bridges Elementary second graders sing “On With The Snow!”

It was a standing room only performance at Bridges Elementary for their second grade students’ first musical “On With The Snow!” One hundred thirty-nine students sang and danced to music about snow on Thursday, January 26th, 2023. The second graders had choreography and costumes to wow the audience with a new appreciation for snow and winter.

Nolden places in jump rope competition


Emily Nolden of St. Peter’s Lutheran School in Reedsburg earned fifth place in Division 2 at the Bloomer jump rope competition last Saturday. Nolden qualified for the finals with 45 jumps in 10 seconds. In the finals, she made 38 jumps. (Submitted photo)

A Reedsburg school will bring a beloved Disney film to the stage.

Sacred Heart Catholic School is preparing to perform “Beauty and the Beast Jr.” Shows will be at 6 p.m. Feb. 16 and 17 at the CAL Center.

Wisconsin Heights looking to grants to help pay for solar array

The Wisconsin Heights School District is seeking state and federal grants to fund a $1.1 million solar facility, but it could be built without the financial help, District Administrator Jordan Sinz said.

SPSD awarded mental health grant

Sauk Prairie School District Superintendent Jeff Wright introduced a new grant the district received. The SPSD Cross Agency  Comprehensive Mental Health plan is funded by a U.S. Department of Education School Based Mental Health Grant.

Sacred Heart announces first trimester honor roll

Sacred Heart Catholic School in Reedsburg has unfurled its list of honor students for the first trimester.

All students are in Grades 6 through 8.
