The school year got started quickly at the Wisconsin Heights School District with a quick turnaround to homecoming last week. The parade was well-attended in downtown Mazomanie. For more photos of the parade, see pages 10 and 12.
The Wisconsin Height School Board approved a donation of $9,069.00 at the September 11th board meeting from Youth Basketball.
The money will be used to purchase the following items for the district.
1. A new glass door industrial refrigerator to place in the concession stand.
The School District of Reedsburg recognized top talent in the latest round of Excellence in Teaching Awards.
Winners include Meadow Woolever, a First Grade teacher at Pineview Elementary; Jeff Herschleb, art teacher at Webb Middle School; Theresa Carey, English teacher at RAHS; and Joanne Brunett, academic support teacher at RAHS.
An annual fundraiser to help kick off the start of school will be held prior to the Sept. 1 football game at Reedsburg Area High School.
Cornfeast will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Sweet corn, hot dogs, brats, chips, drinks and desserts will be sold to raise money for National Honor Society scholarships.

Classes aren’t the only thing that will be back in session this fall. After-school learning programs also get underway when the calendar flips over to September.
Lo Yu-Ting, a visiting teacher from Taiwan, will be teaching at Sauk Prairie High School in 2023-2024 as part of the Teachers of Critical Languages Program within the US State Department. The Sauk Prairie School District was selected through a competitive application process.
