School Board approves several purchases for upcoming year

The School District of Reedsburg will have some new equipment with the start of the school year.

On Monday night, the School Board unanimously approved several proposals to purchase supplies for education and transportation.

School District hosts open house

The School District of Reedsburg will hold an open house from noon to 6 p.m. Aug. 31 in preparation of classes starting after Labor Day.

This will be an opportunity for parents, families and friends to tour buildings and meet staff.

There is no charge to attend.

RAHS unveils Viking Village Beaver Pavilion

A new outdoor structure at Reedsburg Area High School will be opened to the public on Aug. 18.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Viking Village Beaver Pavilion will begin at 6 p.m. The ceremony will feature the band and dance students. The Gridiron Club will also sell concessions from 5 to 7 p.m.

RAHS changes Homecoming Parade route

Reedsburg Area High School Homecoming will look quite different this fall.

Student Council, which organizes the celebration, announced that it has altered the parade route, among other activities.

Superintendent Wright appointed to Ag education and workforce development council

Sauk Prairie School District Superintendent Jeff Wright has been appointed to the Wisconsin Agricultural Education and Workforce Development Council (WAEWDC) under the appointing authority of the State Superintendent of the Department of Public Instruction, Dr. Jill Underly.

Heights discusses staffing issues

The Wisconsin Heights School Board discussed staffing issues, among other things, at their regularly scheduled board meeting on Monday, July 24. Interim District Administrator Craig Gerlach noted that the district had a few open positions to be filled and was in particular working with an applicant from the Philippines.

Summer School ends with a career week for all

During the last week of summer school, Wisconsin Heights had Career Week. Classes explored different careers and had visitors from Dane County Humane Society, Jessie and Kay from Dogs On Call, and a scientist come in to talk about their jobs.

Wisconsin Heights wellness summer school class hikes Ice Age Trail

The Wisconsin Heights summer school Wellness class took two field trips this month. The first was a hiking trip on the Ice Age Trail outside Cross Plains, and the other was to Lion’s Den Taekwondo gym in Black Earth.
