The public portion of Monday night’s School Board meeting was a short one, as is not unusual before the Thanksgiving break.

This year’s American Honey Princess, Allison Hager, visited area schools in late October and early November. Her trip was held in conjunction with the Wisconsin Honey Producers Association’s annual convention in Wisconsin Dells. She shared with children and adults the importance of beekeeping and honeybee pollination.

A past chief counselor from the U.S. Department of Education stopped by the School District if Reedsburg last week.

Terry Peterson toured Reedsburg’s CLC last Wednesday. His only other stop was in the state was Madison.

This is a reminder to the public that this month’s Board meeting for the School District of Reedsburg will take place Nov. 13.

Meetings are held at 7 p.m. at the Central Office.

This month’s meeting has been moved up due to the Thanksgiving holiday.

The songs of ABBA will be center stage for this year’s Reedsburg Area High School musical.

At the Wisconsin Association of School Boards (WASB) Regional Meeting held recently, the following Reedsburg Board members received special recognition:

--Leo Almeida - Achievement Level 1

--Ross Retzlaff - Achievement Level 1

--Heather Westphal - Achievement Level 1 and 2

--Gabe Bauer - Achievement Level 2

Negotiations are still ongoing between the School District of Reedsburg and support staff unions.

On Monday night, the School Board held another closed-session meeting related to REA, REPA and RESPA contracts. No action was taken.
