The Class of 2021 took home its diplomas on May 28.
A limited crowd gathered to see about 200 students graduate in the Reedsburg Area High School Gym.
Graduation was initially set on Millennium Field but organizers moved it inside after a week of rainy weather. It was also unseasonably cold Friday night.
Shoppers may notice veterans outside selling poppy décor this Memorial Day weekend.
Members of Thurber-Greenwood VFW Post 1916 will do a poppy drive May 29-31. They will be at Quillin’s, Viking, both Kwik Trips and the BP gas station in Reedsburg.

Last year’s Memorial Day gatherings were affected by COVID-19, but everything is back in 2021.

After a series of COVID-related adjustments last year, Reedsburg Parks and Recreation Director Matt Scott is happy to report that the proceedings for this summer will be much closer to a normal year.

During the late 1800s and early 1900s, the Stereoscope, also known as a stereopticon or stereo viewer, was a popular way to travel beyond one’s home without leaving the comfort of the parlor. A “traveler” would simply slip a stereo card into the viewer and the entire world would be at their beckoned call.
The Reedsburg Public Library is fully open and ready to welcome customers of all ages to the library. This week’s column will highlight programs for adults scheduled throughout the summer, and next week we’ll share more information about programs for youth. The summer library program begins on June 1.
