The Reedsburg Area Women’s Club will organize a blood drive this month.
It will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. May 17 at the Recreation Center in the Reedsburg City Hall basement, 134 S. Locust St. This will be an American Red Cross event.
An area woman is running to be part of the Dairy Farmers of Wisconsin Board of Directors.
Sharon Laubscher of Wonewoc is running to represent District 20, which includes Sauk and Richland counties. She is seeking re-election. At the moment, she also serves on the board’s audit and channel management committees.

The Reedsburg Headstart program is looking for items to support its activities.
Donations of disposable napkins, fun paper plates, child-size cups, plastic tablecloths and table decorations are appreciated. The goal is to be able to create entertaining dining experiences for the kids.

State Sen. Howard Marklein, R-Spring Green, is among a handful of leaders who’ve requested an audience with Gov. Tony Evers to discuss the state budget.
Marklein is co-chair of the Joint Finance Committee, which plays a critical role in helping develop the budget. The other chair is Rep. Mark Born, R-Beaver Dam.
Reedsburg’s largest festival will take place as planned after all this year.
The Butterfest committee announced the event had been moved back to its original dates of June 16-20. Previously, the group said it needed to push the festival back due to the pandemic. New dates, at that time, had not been announced.
