Rebecca Newman of Reedsburg has earned her degree from Austin Peay State University in Tennessee.

She was one of nearly 500 graduates this summer.

Reedsburg will host Indigenous Peoples’ Day this year

This week, the Reedsburg Area Chamber of Commerce announced it has been chosen to host Sauk County’s 2021 Indigenous Peoples’ Day.

This event, which was created in partnership between the Sauk County Board and Sauk County Historical Society, recognizes the sacrifices and contributions made by American Indians.

Reedsburg Bank celebrates 150 years

Community First Bank will celebrate its 150th anniversary on Sept. 27.

A customer appreciation day will be held from 8:30 to 4:30 a.m. at the bank, 115 E. Main St.

Visitors are welcome to stop by and help mark the occasion. Snacks and beverages will be offered throughout the day.

Church unveils little free library

Five Solas Church in Reedsburg has established a new free little library.

The setup, which features conservative Christian materials, is located in front of the church, 850 Clark St.

Books, including Bibles, are free to borrow, but movies should be returned within a week.

Women’s club organizes blood drive

The Reedsburg Area Women’s Club will hold a blood drive Sept. 20.

Hours are from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Reedsburg Recreation Center in the Reedsburg City Hall basement.

Two locals make President’s List

A couple of Reedsburg residents were part of the President’s List of High Distinction at Western Technical College. They included Berthlind Browere and Coralee Seal.

To make the list, students must earn a GPA of 3.5 or higher and carry at least six credits in pursuit of an associate degree or technical diploma.

Next mobile pantry is Sept. 23

Sacred Heart will hold another mobile pantry on Sept. 24.

Food will be provided starting at 4 p.m. and will be given out while supplies last. Anyone is welcome to attend.

Distribution will take place in the parking lot on North Willow Street. This will be a drive-thru only event.
