It will be next year before Reedsburg residents see progress made on the new movie theater.
Ground isn’t expected to be broken until spring 2022, with a tentative opening date of that fall. The project was discussed at Monday night’s Reedsburg Common Council meeting.
City officials are looking for feedback regarding Reedsburg’s next comprehensive plan.
The plan will help guide current and future leaders in the development, growth and improvement of the community for the next 20 years. Public feedback is necessary to help formulate the newest plan.
Officer Joshua Hoege of the Reedsburg Public Department has received a promotion.
As of Nov. 7, he will be a sergeant.
Hoege has been with the department since 2011. He has served as both patrol and K9 officers. He is also a member of the Reedsburg Fire Department and Reedsburg Area Ambulance Service.

It’s waterworks time for the city of Reedsburg.
Reedsburg Utility Commission announced it will be doing hydrant flushing and water main maintenance this month. Residents can expect to see workers around the city from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Our curbside materials pick-up was developed in May of 2020 to extend our ability to serve the community while our traditional library services were unavailable. The popularity of curbside materials pickup led us to continue the service well after we reopened and to look for a long-term solution to continue contactless service indefinitely.

Sauk County’s third annual Indigenous Peoples Day will be held on Monday, Oct. 11 at 1 p.m. at the historic train depot in Reedsburg at 240 Railroad St., which now houses the Reedsburg Area Chamber of Commerce.
The Rock Springs Public Library has been homeless for awhile.
Since being displaced by flooding in 2018, the little library has been forced to operate out of lent locations. St. John Lutheran Church in Rock Springs gave it a place to stay.
