The University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh has announced its Dean’s List and Honor Roll for the fall 2021 semester.

The former Shopko site was abuzz with activity last weekend as Reedsburg hosted the Midwest Motor Sports Racers’ Expo. The parking lot was overflowing with folks from all across the country who braved January weather to visit vendor booths and bid on an assortment of auction items.

The Reedsburg Public Library January calendar has something for everyone, with popular youth and adult programs returning for the winter months, as well as a Monday Matinee Movie on Jan. 17, and the Friends of the Library Annual Meeting scheduled for Sunday, Jan. 23.

It’s been a long time coming, what with numerous fundraising efforts, but it appears the proposed splash park is finally underway.

On Monday night, Reedsburg Common Council approved a site plan, which calls for building a splash pad to the northeast of the municipal pool, between the picnic shelter and the playground equipment.

There will be two names on the ballot for Reedsburg Mayor this spring.

Incumbent Dave Estes will face newcomer Nathan Johnson, according to paperwork filed with the Reedsburg City Clerk’s Office. It will be the only contested City race on the ballot.

The City of Reedsburg has selected a consultant to look into how it might build a new wastewater treatment plant.

Sacred Heart’s Mobile Pantry will be held on a different day this month.

Rather than the fourth Thursday of the month, distribution has been changed to the third Thursday, meaning it will take place at 4 p.m. Jan. 20 at the Reedsburg VFW Hall. The change was necessary to avoid conflicts with the United Fund Radio Auction.

Reedsburg Area Medical Center Foundation decided to help a long-time employee who was struggling in the aftermath of cancer.

The Reedsburg Area United Fund will hold its Radio Auction this year, and the donations of auction items are needed.

Those who wish to donate may bring items to the Reedsburg Area Chamber of Commerce between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Jan. 20. After that date, take items to the Reedsburg VFW Hall, 200 Veterans Drive.
