Your right to know: Protect your right to open government Wisconsin’s tradition of government transparency rests on the state’s open records and open meetings laws. They declare that nearly every government document is open to public inspection, and nearly every meeting of groups formed to do governmental work must be open to the public.

Question: As a private citizen, do I have a right to speak at my city council’s public meetings?

My dog takes Prozac. In fact, she needs Prozac. I’m open with the fact that my dog is antidepressants, and it’s usually met with an “awww,” or curiosity. My dog--Anna--always gets a few extra friendly scratches when people find out. She enjoys it, but sometimes she cowers, which is just one of the things the Prozac is for.
