A huge thank you to everyone that supported our recent VFW poppy drive held over Labor Day weekend. It was a huge success. A special "Thank You" to Viking Grocery and Quillin's for allowing us to set up at their store.

I’ve never really liked Donald Trump. He appeared so crass and rude!

What kind of a leader would he be for our country? When I saw how biased most of the media was, I knew I had to stop listening, start thinking for myself and learn the truth.

I watched him closely and I couldn’t believe it: He was keeping his promises!

My five brothers and I kneeled at the front door when Father Fran was leaving after a visit.

He would bless us and say a prayer. I felt loved. 

He didn’t pray we would be racists. He prayed for us to be open to tolerance.

In last week’s Clergy Corner column Pastor Dave Karow recommended reading the Bible, which he admits may trouble or confuse you, and he mentions certain parts you should read. I am an atheist but I also frequently recommend that people read the Bible. I tell them to read the ENTIRE Bible not just parts of it.

Jesus said, “The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field” (Matthew 13:44).

I wish this election were not about Sleepy Joe and the Great Cheeto! We should be making our choices based on policies, not personalities. This is not a question of who you would rather have a beer with. The choices in this election are powerful ones and the results will affect all of our lives.

The COVID-19 pandemic has taught us that many of our jobs can be done digitally and remotely.

We’ve found that we can process reports, post documents online and share files with ease from our home workplaces. In some cases, providing access to information is actually easier than it was before.

The east wall of the Reedsburg Area High School Commons holds the Reedsburg Athletic Hall of Fame. The wall is adorned with plaques that honor the athletes that have made their mark over the more than one hundred years of Reedsburg’s interscholastic competition.

Retired Army General Paul Eaton posted a video on, September 3rd, detailing Trump’s disparaging remarks denigrating U.S. service members buried in a French cemetery during World War I as “losers.” Trump referred to U.S. Marines killed at Belleau Wood during World War I as “suckers.”

The most evil virus known to human kind is quickly spreading throughout the world, claiming victims everywhere it spreads. It is a disease whose vaccines are being developed and promoted, but as yet, only one with a proven track record.
