What a strange year this is! The hummingbirds will be leaving soon and we won't see them again for seven months. And that's a hint at what's coming, friends. Remember that season in which Mother Nature tries over and over to kill us? The season of snow and ice and darkness and even more isolation? Well, it's coming for us.
I write today with sincere thanks as our campus begins another fall semester, this time after many months of upheaval which have caused us all to adapt and pivot our lives amid unprecedented challenge and change.
An investigation into Hunter Biden's foreign business relations by the Trump administration spawned the impeachment proceedings by Democrats, many of which also had family with business dealings overseas. Democrats got scared and decided to try and stop the investigations by declaring Trump acted illegally.

In last week’s Clergy Corner column Pastor Dave Karow recommended reading the Bible, which he admits may trouble or confuse you, and he mentions certain parts you should read. I am an atheist but I also frequently recommend that people read the Bible. I tell them to read the ENTIRE Bible not just parts of it.
Jesus said, “The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field” (Matthew 13:44).
I wish this election were not about Sleepy Joe and the Great Cheeto! We should be making our choices based on policies, not personalities. This is not a question of who you would rather have a beer with. The choices in this election are powerful ones and the results will affect all of our lives.
