Tiaha McGettigan has received the 2021 Distinguished Young Pharmacist of the Year Award from the Pharmacy Society of Wisconsin.
McGettigan works for Reedsburg Area Medical Center.
Reedsburg Area Helping Hands will start its annual Mitten Tree Program on Friday, Nov. 5.
Locations around Reedsburg will have mitten tags and mitten trees, which donors can collect to find out how they can help people in need. This is the 24th year for the holiday drive. Some businesses will also have donation jars.

A new non-profit effort unveiled earlier this year has made headway.
The Carrig Community Fund is up and running and has a little over $1 million available. It was created by Don and Barbara Carrig, who are known in the Reedsburg area for their charitable contributions.
Birds and mammals in both the city and country go full speed ahead on collecting nuts and seeds for winter. Those who put out feeders have likely noticed even more traffic the past 30 days or so as squirrels and songbirds not only fill their bellies but also their holes, trees and nests.

When the weather is nice, you can count on seeing motorcycles and bicycles, and there’s another kind of vehicle being added to the mix.
ATVs and UTVs continue to grow in popularity. As technology improves, however, these modes of transportation are no longer limited to warmer months. Some models are built for travel in snow and cold.
