The Reedsburg Beavers played its first two games of the boys basketball season and the two games played out dramatically different.
The opening contest saw the Beavers lose big at Tomah but Reedsburg rebounded four days later to pull out a thrilling victory at Portage to even up at 1-1 for the young season.
The River Valley High School boys varsity football team had twelve players and two coaches named to the SWC All Conference teams for the 2020 fall sports season.
The River Valley High School varsity cross country teams had three students named to the 2020 SWC All Conference teams. Julius Ross was named to the first team All Conference. Seth Rhoades was named to the second team All Conference.
The River Valley High School varsity girls basketball team began its season of competition last Friday night against the Lancaster Flying Arrows in Lancaster.
The River Valley High School boys varsity wrestling team began their season this past week with a meet against fellow SWC team Lancaster at home. Lancaster won the dual 57-21.
The River Valley High School varsity boys basketball team returned to competition this past week. They started their season off on Friday night playing the Platteville Hillmen at home with Luke Thatcher returning as head coach.
Three seasons ago, Sean McGann was the freshman coach at Sauk Prairie High School.
McGann loved the fight and tenacity of that team.
When the Eagles begin their 2020-21 campaign, McGann will have much of that gang back together again.

Weston got the season underway with a lot of positives in high school girls basketball action last week. The Silver Eagles got off to a quick start and prevailed from there in a 43-29 season-opening win at Mauston.

After a sluggish start to the season, the Weston Trap Shoot Team came back strong in the final weeks to come out on top in Conference 5 of the Wisconsin High School Trap League.
