River Valley boys basketball team suffers loss

The River Valley varsity boys basketball team suffered a loss against the Edgewood Crusaders last week. The Crusaders led from the start, closing the first half 34-18. This led to a final score of 39-68 Edgewood. Tyler Nachreiner led the Hawks with 10 points, followed by Landen Alt with nine.
The game was senior night with the senior boys honored before the game. The seniors this year are: Will Bailey, Tyler Nachreiner, Seth Rhoades, Isaac Prem, Kelby Prochaska, Anthony Favreau, Luke Kannenberg, Kiya Cox (manager), Emilly Lissy (manager), and Kaydrin Brownlee (manager).
“I thought this was a great challenge for us to go up against such an athletic, aggressive team,” said River Valley head coach Luke Thatcher. “I was pleased how we handled their pressure for much of the game. Our problems come when we string turnovers and missed shots together. We struggled to put points on the board, and that allowed Edgewood to get out to an early lead and never look back. We need to learn from this as we approach our post season, and eliminate big runs from our opponents.”
This week the boys have a busy week with four games. Monday night the boys traveled to Fennimore. Tuesday night they traveled to Prairie du Chien. Thursday they will go to Dodgeville. Friday they will travel to Lancaster.
