La Valle woman wins state clothing contest

A young La Valle woman took home the Junior honor in this year’s Wisconsin Make it with Wool Contest.

Elizabeth Colwell received a $100 cash award and will compete at the national level.

La Valle Library adapts due to coronavirus

The La Valle Public Library is stepping back due to COVID-19.

To help curb the spread, the library will limit how many people are in the building at one time. Patrons are advised to call ahead to make an appointment to use computers or browse shelves. Curbside services are also available.

Hatfields celebrate 60 years

Gary and Sally Hatfield are celebrating 60 years, also Gary’s 80th and Sally’s 78th birthdays. They were married Nov. 12, 1960 at St. Anthony’s Germantown. They were blessed with seven kids: Kathy, Theresa, Tom, Susan, Nancy, Richard and Robert (Robert is deceased). They have 33 grandkids and 43 great grandkids.

Boy Scouts ‘beg’ for food

It’s time for the annual Camping for Cans organized by the Reedsburg Boy Scout Troop 247.

Members of the club will “beg” for non-perishable food and money outside Viking Village Foods on Nov. 7 and the morning of Nov. 8. The boys will build overnight shelters out of cardboard boxes to illustrate the plight of the homeless.

How Sauk County voted in the November 2020 Election

The following are unofficial results from last Tuesday night’s General Election.

These results were obtained from the Sauk County Clerk’s Office on Monday night of this week.

Voter turnout in the city of Reedsburg was about 83 percent, which is a record.

The Toastmasters organization will continue to meet via Zoom due to COVID-19.

Reedsburg man wins division title at Dells Raceway Park

Brady Bill of Reedsburg captured the 2020 division title in the 602 Late Models Saturday at Dells Raceway Park’s Halloween event. Bill finished the season with four top fives, five top tens and two feature wins to claim the crown by 41 points over New Lisbon’s Dave Trute.

Reedsburg’s trick-or-treat hours are set from 4 to 7 p.m. Oct. 31.

Reedsburg students win FFA awards

Three Reedsburg FFA members took home national honors.

Jenna Engel received the American FFA Degree while Celia Gall and McKenna Murray were named FFA Agriscience Fair National finalists.
