Police promote safe-ride programs in light of OWI arrests

A recent spate of impaired driving has Reedsburg law enforcement encouraging the public to be safer on the road.

Bar Buddies, in particular, is a local effort to provide safe rides to those who are intoxicated or plan to imbibe. For more information, call 608-495-9202. Many bars also have information about the organization.

Music students perform this month

The Reedsburg School District has multiple concerts scheduled in December.

All shows will be held at the CAL Center.

Performances are as follows.

Webb Sixth Grade Music Program, 6 p.m. Dec. 7.

Loganville Elementary Music Program, 6 p.m. Dec. 13.

Westside Elementary Music Program, 6 and 7:15 p.m. Dec. 14.

Candidates for City of Reedsburg seats can file paperwork

Residents who are interested in running for office can start circulating papers.

The documents became available as of Dec. 1, and candidates have until 5 p.m. Jan. 4, 2022 to return them to Reedsburg City Hall. Incumbents who wish to declare non-candidacy (or that they won’t be running again) have until Dec. 27.

Church, RAMC provide vaccines

A Loganville house of worship will hold a vaccine clinic.

From 3 to 6 p.m. Dec. 7, people can visit St. Peter’s Lutheran Church to obtain flu or COVID-19 vaccinations. The church is located at 325 Mill. St.

Reedsburg Area Medical Center personnel will provide the shots.

Appointments aren’t necessary.

Alternate-side parking has begun in Reedsburg

It’s that time of year again: Time to make sure your vehicle is parked on the proper side of the street.

Reedsburg’s alternate-side parking rule went into effect Dec. 1 and continues until April 1, 2022.

Reedsburg Area High School music program wins grant

The RAHS music department has won a grant from the Madison Jazz Society.

This month, the organization presented $500 to RAHS Band Director Scott Bruer to underwrite the Baraboo, Portage and Reedsburg Honors Jazz Project.

South Central plans annual meeting

South Central Dairy Testing will hold its annual meeting in Reedsburg.

The gathering is scheduled for noon Dec. 8 at the Voyageur Inn. The meeting will begin with a meal, followed by the business meeting, awards presentation and door prize giveaway.
