Bill Parker from Reedsburg was recently presented with the Wright Brothers Master Pilot Award. This award is the highest honor given for civilian/recreational aviation. To be eligible, nominees must, among other requirements, have 50 or more years of civil and military piloting experience or 50 or more years’ combined experience in both piloting and aircraft operations. The award requires a rigorous application process including three letters of recommendation, approval by the local FAASTeam supervisor, and then additional endorsement by the FAA in Washington, D.C. Parker has flown countless aircraft types and he shares his passion for aviation at 94 years old, daily supporting the Reedsburg Municipal Airport. The Sauk County Retired Educators met on Tuesday, April 14, at Thunderbird Lanes in Baraboo for a catered lunch. Speakers from the Aging and Disability Resource Center of Sauk County included Keri Luther, volunteer coordinator, and Jim Pritzkow, information and assistance specialist, both pictured below. Also speaking was Kim Fiske, information specialist. They shared with the group many opportunities that the ADRC offers to County residents.
