Court orders competency hearing for Prairie du Sac homicide suspect

An 80-year-old Prairie du Sac man told Sauk County Sheriff’s Office detectives he shot and killed his wife, Susan Paul, 80, because “She was born one of these creatures. They all are and they pass their genes on, their numbers grow, sooner or later they take over the world.” George Paul confessed to shooting his wife May 8 at Pewit’s Nest.

Community Gardens get going for season

Sauk County is opening the Community Gardens in Reedsburg for the season.

Each raised bed is 32” tall and 6.5’ long by 3.5’ wide. There are also eight ADA-accessible beds.

Historical Society holds Annual Chicken Barbecue at Pioneer Log Village

The Reedsburg Area Historical Society kicks off its summer season this coming weekend.

It will open with its Chicken Barbecue on May 24 at the Pioneer Log Village, E7882 Highway 23/33, Reedsburg. The fundraiser helps collect money to improve and maintain the historical grounds.
