The Wisconsin Heights school board at their January 22 meeting discussed and decided on enrollment caps, in particular their 4K cap where no spaces are available for open enrollment. There are no other caps in place for the remaining grade levels.

Sauk Prairie Healthcare Foundation recently announced another donation to the Sauk Prairie School District, bringing its total contributions over the past year to more than $10,000. Specific donations to Sauk Prairie school programs include: AED and Carrying Case for off-site events - $1,403 Hydroponics Unit – Sauk Prairie FFA - $2,500

The last week in January Wisconsin Heights 4th graders experimented with string and cups in order to understand how sound moves.

Wisconsin’s public school open enrollment program allows parents to apply for their children to attend a school district other than the one in which they live. The Department of Public Instruction recently announced that the full-time open enrollment regular application period begins February 5th and runs through April 30, 2024.

Second graders at Pineview Elementary are preparing for their music program.

It will begin at 6 p.m. Feb. 13 at the CAL Center.

Admission is free.

 

The School District of Reedsburg as an additional National Board certified teacher on its roster.

Amy Bass, a fourth-grade educator at Prairie Ridge Intermediate School, is the newest staffer to become certified.

The deadline has passed for applicants to file to run for the Reedsburg School Board, and it doesn’t look like there will be any competition this year.

Only three seats are up for election this spring, and only the incumbents for each one will seek re-election.

The last remaining rural elementary in the School District of Reedsburg has been listed.

The former Loganville Elementary has been put up for sale through the Chelsey Steele First Weber team in Reedsburg. The asking price is $435,000.

Fifth-grade music students at Prairie Ridge Intermediate School will put on a concert for the public.

Performances will begin at 6 and 7 p.m. Jan. 29 at the CAL Center.

There is no admission charge.

 

The Wisconsin Heights Superintendent search all but wrapped up as board president Barb Statz confirmed on Monday, “We have an accepted offer from Michelle McGrath to become our next superintendent.” McGrath brings 27 years of educational experience to the job.
